Food Hygiene – Excel Power Query

Day 1 of Power BI school often starts when you have a regular report to produce. You get a spreadsheet or a file regularly and from there you produce some pivot tables, charts etc… As this is the introduction to a series we won’t create all of those things in Excel, but we cover the starting position. Now you are able to connect Excel Power Query to a folder on your computer, so you can download files and place them in the folder and then refresh Excel and as if by magic it all works. The ability to add files and have them automatically included (providing they have the same format/schema) is also a game changer. Suddenly a task that takes an hour a day can become something that takes 5 minutes!
