Great Power BI and Tabular models are all about making your DAX portable, and you make it portable by understanding the two Contexts of Power BI, Filter and Row. This video will give a really high level view of what is the most complex part of the whole platform to understand. Keep revisiting context and don’t worry if you think you’ve gone wrong. In the words of the song… “Things can only get better!”
Power BI is a great platform for Continuous Improvement so don’t try to make version 1 perfect, perfection comes when your reports are used for more than you wrote them for because of the portability.
